Subaru has announced a recall of their 2011 Outback and Legacy vehicles due to a defective sunroof issue that increases the risk of a crash, according to news sources.
Approximately 69,590 Outback and Legacy vehicles are involved in the recall. The cars were manufactured from August 3, 2010 to July 1, 2011. The sunroofs on both vehicles can become loose or completely detach from the car. The glass is not properly adhered to the retainer, which is the source of the issue. If the sunroof loosened while on the road, it could potentially cause a crash.
Owners will be notified by the company beginning in October. Replacements or other arrangements to secure the sunroof will be provided by dealers free of charge.
