Subaru has announced a recall that will affect 195,080 vehicles due to a windshield wiper malfunction, according to recent news sources.
The two vehicles affected by the recall are the Legacy and the Outback, from model year 2010 to 2011. The cars were made from January to May 2011.
The windshield wiper cover can overheat, which may cause the wiper to cease operation. A car without windshield wipers can be very dangerous, as a lack of wipers can severely affect visibility. An overheated wiper can also induce a fire. Chances of getting into a crash are increased by this defective part.
Subaru will send notices to owners starting in November. A replacement cover will be provided free of charge by dealers.
