A stroller made by Bugaboo Bee has been recalled due to a tipping hazard, according to recent news sources.
The issue is with the front wheels of the stroller, which can lock unexpectedly, increasing the risk of a stroller tip over.
The stroller is popular with celebrity parents, including Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale, Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck, and Toby McGuire and Jen Myer.
The company recently changed the design of the stroller wheels to a plastic bearing. Previously a metal bearing was used. The change occurred in early 2011. The plastic bearing has decreased the swivel motion of the wheels, which creates a tipping hazard.
The company has stated that new front wheels will be provided to customers who purchased the stroller between January and September of 2011.
As a Los Angeles personal injury lawyer, consumer and child safety are my top priorities. I hope that this recall will solve the issue and that these devices no longer pose a danger to young children. If you or someone you know has been injured by or suffered from using a defective device, it’s in your best interest to contact a product liability lawyer as soon as possible. The law limits how long you have to file a claim, so don’t hesitate to call a personal injury lawyer today.
