A Colorado company is conducting a recall of their chicken and steak products due to misbranding, according to recent news sources.
The United States Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service announced that the frozen chicken fajita products may contain steak, and the steak products may contain chicken. Both are made by Phil’s Fresh Foods, Inc.
The following products are affected by the recall:
- 7-oz. cartons of “EVOL. BURRITOS FIRE GRILLED CHICKEN FAJITA.”
- 7-oz. cartons of “EVOL. BURRITOS FIRE GRILLED STEAK FAJITA.”
The products are imprinted with “EST. 21015” or “P-21015” and have a lot number of “03311”.
The company was made aware of the misbranding when someone with a beef allergy consumed the chicken product and had an allergic reaction and notified them.
As a Los Angeles personal injury lawyer, I know that there many rules and regulations that most food and product manufacturers must abide by. Even so, mistakes can and will be made. The product liability lawyer at our law firm hopes that you or your loved ones will not be affected by the recalled chicken and steak products. If you or anyone you know has been affected by food-borne illness we encourage them to seek medical attention right away so that things do not get any worse.
