According to different news sources, all consumers should stay away from oysters for an undetermined time. The company Korean Farms from Santa Fe Springs has issued a recall of frozen oysters that have been packed under the ASSI Brand.
The company noticed there might be something wrong with the product after a batch was tested positive for types I and II of norovirus. This virus can cause a severe case of gastroenteritis. The possible symptoms of this illness are diarrhea, nausea, dehydration, stomach pain and vomiting. The virus can stay in the infected human’s system for two weeks. This infection can be spread by fecal or oral contact.
The FDA confirms that no reports of hospitalizations related to the consuming of the contaminated oysters were heard of so far. There were however cases of people falling ill after eating the recalled items at a restaurant from the state of Washington.
As a Los Angeles personal injury lawyer I urge you to keep from consuming oysters until all restaurants have been cleared of the recalled products. Personal injury lawyers are familiar with similar health cases and the ramifications can be unfortunate. Let a professional attorney assist you with your case if you’re ever involved in a similar situation.
