Various news outlets have reported that pine nuts distributed by the Badia Spices Company must be recalled. The announcement from the company exposes the risk of Salmonella contamination being allegedly too great. According to the news article, the manufacturer will recall 3,800 lbs. of pine nuts.
The possibly contaminated items were distributed to retail stores all over New York, Maryland, Florida, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Although there weren’t any illnesses reports directly linked to the consuming of these recalled pine nuts, the product has been tested and analyzed by the Food and Drug Administration and found positive for Salmonella. This is yet another case connected to the Salmonella outbreak in the East Coast of the United States.
The FDA announced that all pine nuts from the Badia Spices brand with the codes 033844 00068 and 033844 00733 should not be consumed but returned to the place of purchase right away.
As a Los Angeles personal injury lawyer I hope that consumers will be able to return this product in a timely manner so nobody will contract any form of disease related to the Salmonella outbreak. Individuals who have been injured in any situation where companies or other third parties were solely responsible for the damages, should contact a personal injury lawyer as soon as possible.
