As reported by the news earlier, an initiative from the students attending the Lincoln-Way North High School will keep senior citizens safer when driving their vehicles.
The students along with the school’s automotive program started a free winter car check-up event for senior citizens. The various area police departments are also involved in this program.
According to the news, the students check everything that might represent an accident hazard to senior citizens in the face of mechanical failure. Check-up includes batteries, car tires, hoses, belts, steering, fluids and suspension.
An Officer says he’s proud of the students who are taking the time to assist senior citizens while improving and mastering their craft. This is the third year that students, the school and the police department team up to keep the safety of their local roads.
As a Los Angeles car accident attorney, I’m always happy to hear that dedicated professionals offer their services to keep others safe while driving.
Personal injury lawyers know many accidents are the result of cars that haven’t been under professional maintenance and that lack the supervision to be safe for drivers. This initiative is a great tool for the prevention of accidents caused by malfunctioning of the vehicles involved.
