According to the news, there was a recall issued for over 27,000 bikes manufactured by the Trek bicycle company. Reports show that the producers have noted issues related to the saddle clamps.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission warrants that all of the recalled bikes are from the 2012 model year. The makes include the 7.3 FX including WSD and Disc models, Livestrong FX including WSD models, Livestrong District, 7.4 FX including WSD models, 7.2 FX including WSD models, District and 9th District.
The company has stated that the problem could force the bolt to break, which would lead to the saddle coming off the seat unexpectedly. Such a malfunction could cause the rider to be allegedly ejected from the bicycle. It is not known to us if there were any reports of accidents related to the bicycle malfunctioning.
As a Los Angeles personal injury lawyer I urge all bikers to contact the manufacturer so affected saddle may be replaced completely free of charge.
Whenever a company is not responsible about the issues and threats its alleged products pose to their consumers, remember to always have the contact of a product liability lawyer at hand so you will have the best professional fighting for your rights by your side.
