According to news sources, a recall has been issued for about 284,000 Colorful Hearts Teddy Bears due to a choking hazard towards children arising from the possibility that the bear’s eyes could loosed and end up falling out.
The company, Build-A-Bear Workshop Inc., announced the recall after it was found that the teddy bear’s eyes can loosen, causing it to potentially fall out and posing a choking hazard for children. The recalled teddy bears are covered with fabric that has colored heart shapes printed on it.
There have been no injuries reported to date.
The recalled product has been sold from April 2011 through December 2011 and has a retail price of roughly $18.
Consumers with the recalled bears should take them away from children and return it to the point of purchase for a coupon.
