According to news sources, The Food and Drug Administration is reminding consumers not to use the ShoulderFlex Massager that was recalled Aug. 31, 2011 due to strangulation hazards.
The manufacturing company, King International, has been out of business since the recall of its ShoulderFlex Massager product went into place. The company’s 800 number has been since disconnected, while many of the companies that sell the recalled product have yet to be properly notified.
The recalled product can cause serious injury or death due to strangulation arising from the product getting entangled with hair, clothing or jewelry.
One incident resulting in death and another report of a near death incident have been received in connection with the use of the recalled product.
Consumers with the recalled product should stop using it immediately and dispose of it. The FDA recommends that consumers dispose of the power supply as well as the massage fingers separately.
