According to news sources, a voluntary recall has been issued for Dog Power Dog Food after it was discovered that the product contained high levels of aflatoxin, a naturally occurring mold-by product that can potentially cause illness to pets that consume the product.
The company, Advanced Animal Nutrition, announced the voluntary recall due to levels of aflatoxin in the product exceeding standard limits. The recalled products have lot numbers K0004 through K1322 and include Dog Power Adult Maintenance Formula, Dog Power Hunters Formula, and Dog Power Hi-Pro Performance Formula. The recalled dried dog food was manufactured between January. 4, 2011 through November. 18, 2011.
There have been no illnesses reported.
