According to news sources, about 440 Dutailier Group crib units have been recalled due to the drop side of the crib potentially becoming detached, causing a space where infants could be entrapped.
The company, Dutailier Group Inc., announced the voluntary recall , after it was found that the slats on the drop side of the crib can detach from the bottom and top rails, resulting in a space in between where infants can be entrapped. The recalled cribs have part numbers E1230C2, E3500C2, E3540C2, E5100C2, E5140C2, E5530C2, E9000C2 and E9100C2.
The cribs have been selling between January 2009 through February 2010 for a retail price between $425 to $775.
There have been 16 reports of the slats on the drop side of the crib detaching.
