According to news sources, a global recall has been issued for GM Cadillac SRX vehicles, including about 8,789 units in the U.S. after reports regarding a faulty transmission that can cause unexpected motion when a driver shifts between park and drive.
The recalled vehicles have a model year 2010-2011 and were manufactured in the company plant in Mexico. The company also reportedly informed the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that in certain cases the transmission shift cable was found to have been improperly routed to the engine.
There have been no reported injuries as a result of the recalled product to date.
