New Flyer Industries is recalling certain XD35, XD 40, XDE35, XDE40 and XN40 model transit buses. This recall affects a variety of model years between 2009 and 2012. Please contact New Flyer or see the press release for more information. 490 units fall under the purview of the recall.
Complications with the control panels installed on those buses may lead to a loss of control of the bus’s motor function, causing it to stall and possibly crash if certain events are set in motion. This is due to the propensity of the vehicle to enter a shutdown state because of the inability of the “Check Engine” light to turn on properly if the vehicle sends multiple error messages to the panel. New Flyer is cautioning all owners of the above models that the recall is in effect as of January 2012. New Flyer will install a working panel free of charge.
As a car accident attorney in San Diego, I know how important it is for vehicles to perform properly. Every automobile part works in tandem to ensure that your ride is a safe one, and if a problem occurs, it’s important that manufacturers issue a prompt recall. As a San Diego personal injury lawyer, I hope all affected units are fixed before someone gets hurt.
