Certain models of the Infiniti M45 sedan are being recalled by their manufacturer, Nissan North America, because their fuel gauges give incorrect readings, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The Infiniti M45 model sold between 2003 and 2004 reports an inaccurately high fuel tank level due to a mechanical flaw in the vehicle’s circuit board, the NHTSA says.
The safety organization discovered the defect, which they determined to be caused by a malfunctioning circuit board, when they initially investigated the M45 model in December. The circuit board was installed in models manufactured between March of 2002 and June of 2004.
In mid-April, Nissan North America will start informing owners of the Infiniti M45 of the faulty fuel gauge issue.
