Crème Curls Bakery Incorporated has announced a voluntary recall of its Simply Enjoy Vanilla Cream Puffs (19.4 ounce variety) and its Vanilla Cream Puffs (13.2 ounce variety) due to an undeclared milk derivative not listed as such on the package. The puffs contain sodium caseinate, an ingredient that was declared on the package, but was not noted as being derived from milk, thereby posing a health risk to people who are lactose intolerant or have other milk allergies. The reaction may be serious or even life threatening.
The Simply enjoy Vanilla Cream Puffs were distributed through Foodhold U.S.A., LLC, and the Vanilla Cream puffs were distributed through Crème Curls Bakery. Both affected products were shipper to retail supermarkets across the entire United States. The cream puffs come packaged in a carton constructed from glossy paperboard, nnd they stamped with one of two UPC codes : 6-88267-12409-9 for the Simply Enjoy Vanilla Cream Puffs, and 0-70109-60055-5 for Ppuffs distributed by Crème Curls Bakery.
People who have purchased the affected puffs can return them to their original place of purchase for a full refund.
As a Riverside personal injury attorney I realize that when serious food allergies are concerned, omitting an ingredient from a product label is much more serious than a typical typographical error. If you or someone you know has been harmed by a recalled product, please contact us today.
