We’ve all seen erratic drivers on the roadway, or hear about it in the news, but perhaps the best way to bring attention to this important subject is by referencing celebrities alleged to have engaged in the same practices.
Recently, pop superstar Justin Bieber was ticketed by police for driving higher than the legally mandated 65 miles per hour. A Los Angeles City Council person is taking the pop star to task, saying that the commute exhibited a reckless disregard for the safety of other citizens on the road. The politician claims to have seen the event transpire, and believes that Bieber was traveling upwards of 100 mph.
For his part, Bieber says that he was trying to elude aggressive paparazzi, who gave chase once the pop star attempted to get away. Five or six cars reportedly followed the singer on his drive. Bieber decided to lodge a complaint with the police against one of the paparazzi that was on his tail.
This isn’t the first time that he has been pulled over. He was previously stopped by police for allegedly speeding in a construction area and for turning left from the middle lane. An attorney who is not in any way connected to this event says that it will be difficult to place the blame solely on the paparazzi, as the expensive car attracts attention and photos of the star net a lot of money.
Let this stand as a reminder to all that driving the speed limit and not endangering fellow motorists is as important as ever.
