Porsche has issued a recall for its Panamera Turbo from model years 2011 and 2012, as well as the Panamera Turbo S and the Cayenne Turbo vehicles solely from the 2012 model year. 270 vehicles are affected. The reason for the recall is that a turbocharger’s turbine wheel could be fractured because of a casting defect, causing decreased performance and even a fire risk should the initial fracture lead to the turbine shaft itself fracturing, causing oil to leak into the exhaust. Porsche plans to notify vehicle owners and dealers will fix the problem for free.
