The public works director of Winter Park, Florida takes issue with a recent editorial that called out the city’s efforts to improve pedestrian and bike safety. To illustrate the improvements that have been made, the city official discusses how the past two years alone have seen the city fill in 1,200 feet of sidewalk, create new markings and crossing signals at numerous intersections, and build bike racks around the area. The city will also conduct a Traffic Safety Campaign throughout the year.
