The District Attorney for Westchester County, New York states that over 3,000 drivers perished in 2011 because of distracted driving. She and her office have partnered with Nationwide Insurance and the Westchester County Chiefs of Police Association to start an outreach program that educates teenagers about the danger of distracted driving. One of her staff members visited a number of high schools in Westchester County to educate teens and allow students to discover the dangers of distracted driving firsthand via a simulator.
