In Eau Claire, Wisconsin, members of the police department recently set up a pedestrian safety enforcement operation over the course of two days. An officer dressed in plain clothes would use the crosswalk in a bid to catch drivers who ignore pedestrian safety laws, at which point a marked unit would pull those persons over. 73 warnings were given out in those two days alone, with an officer stating that violations took place every couple of minutes.
