A new motorcycle safety plan being considered in South Australia would require a scooter rider to pass a test to get their license. The proposals were recently released by the Road Safety Minister. Currently, an automobile license is sufficient for motorcycle drivers so long as their conveyance does not exceed 50cc. One of the proposals would require a driver to have a car license for a year before obtaining a motorcycle license. The vice president of the Motorcycle Riders Association of South Australia disapproves of two of the proposals, claiming that they will be unfair to some riders.
