New Zealand is experiencing an apparent problem with used car dealers who allegedly import cars with new parts but then switch these parts out with older, worn-out components. New Zealand imported 75,000 used automobiles this year, and each is subject to a safety check that includes quality assurance for car parts. But if those parts are then replaced with cheaper units after the fact and then the vehicles are resold, customers might have the parts wear out completely in just a few months.
