The thought of filling up a tank of gas nowadays no doubt could have drivers in California breaking out into a cold sweat. Thankfully, a new report suggests doing a couple simple things to improve fuel efficiency. First, take weighty objects out of your trunk if you’re not going to need them. Get regular maintenance work as necessary, and fill up your tires with an adequate amount of air. Finally, even though it might be nearly impossible to do in Southern California, avoid situations where you have to start and stop, and instead opt for routes where you can travel at a relatively constant speed.
