On January 22, 2013, the first trial involving the recalled DePuy ASR hip device will begin in the Los Angeles Superior Court. The Plaintiff, Loren “Bill” Kransky, will be represented at trial by the law firms of Panish | Shea | Ravipudi LLP, Walkup, Melodia, Kelly & Schoenberger, the Gomez Law Firm and the Law Offices of Dean Goetz. Mr. Kransky received an ASR hip device in December 2007. The ASR device failed less than five years after it was implanted, requiring replacement surgery in February 2012.
Mr. Kransky alleges that the ASR hip failed years early because of its defective design. He further alleges that DePuy had reason to know that the ASR’s design was dangerous and defective long before his doctor implanted him with the device. More than two thousand cases involving the ASR hip device are pending in the state court of California. Panish | Shea | Ravipudi LLP represent hundreds of plaintiffs whose ASR hips failed early, and who have brought suit in Los Angeles.
