Snowy weather may still impact California for the next few months, and as such, people must pay particular attention to recalls of items designed to be used during these frosty months. If you own one of the following products, make sure you do what’s necessary to protect yourself from harm.
The Valcourt, Canada-based Bombardier Recreational Products announced the recall, which pertains to a number of Ski-Doo snowmobiles of the 2013 model year. Summit, Renegade, Freeride, MX Z, GSX, and Grand Tourine LE models are all affected by the recall (check out the link to verify whether or not your particular model is included).
A total of 10,200 snowmobiles are impacted by the recall, and each would have been sold across the country between March of last year and this past January. Depending on the model, the vehicle would have cost anywhere from $8,000 to $12,000. These particular snowmobiles might have a fuel pump inlet fitting that can touch the oil tank, the result of which could be a breakage of the former. If this leads fuel to emanate, a distinct possibility, a fire hazard is thus posed.
Consumers are encouraged to refrain from using these snowmobiles until such time that they can set up free repairs from an authorized dealer. Affected persons should hear from BRP soon if they haven’t already.
