A series of investigations has been prompted after a nurse with the Bakersfield-based Glenwood Gardens retirement home refused to provide CPR to a resident, but even as those investigations get carried out, the family of the now-deceased resident has expressed satisfaction with the way the facility carried out the woman’s care. The possibility of elder abuse is being looked at by the Kern County Aging and Adult Services Department, while the local police department is attempting to figure out whether or not the incident could be considered a crime. That latter company has also now stated that the nurse recorded during a 911 call was not acting within the bounds of company policy.
