The Chrysler Group has announced the recall of Dodge Ram 3500 and 2500 trucks because of a potential fire hazard. 6,143 vehicles are potentially impacted by the issue, which stems from the potential for heat to build up to an unsafe degree beneath the engine cover. When this occurs, a fire under the hood becomes a possibility, posing a threat to drivers while in transit. The recall will start next month, at which point truck owners can expect to receive word from Chrysler. The trucks can then be brought in to a dealer to obtain a non-defective engine cover. Such repairs will be conducted at no cost to owners.
