More sterile compounded products are being recalled, this time by the Indianapolis, Indiana-based Nora Apothecary & Alternative Therapies. The recall pertains to those items that were produced prior to this past Friday and that have yet to expire. The Food and Drug Administration recently carried out an inspection which revealed deficiencies in the company’s quality control, an issue that could imperil a patient’s safety if they are exposed to a contaminated product. No infections have been reported at this time. Although available chiefly in Indiana, Florida, Tennessee, Illinois, and Ohio, the announcement takes pains to note that patients may have lived in states other than those. Doctors should send the items back to Nora, and patients should report to a medical professional if they experience any deleterious effects.
