The area between Mountain View and Millabrae played host to a slew of distracted driving citations handed out by the California Highway Patrol as part of a month long crackdown operation this April. 425 citations were handed out in the area during the April timeframe, and of those, a whopping 340 were directed toward drivers who were carrying on a conversation on their handheld cellphones. 29 people found themselves on the receiving end of a ticket for texting and driving, while 53 others were cited for engaging in some other type of distracting behavior. Officers did not take a zero tolerance approach to the matter, however. 138 people were warned without having to pay a ticket.
