If you’re about to purchase an automobile for your teen, then you might first take a look at a new compilation of the safest and most insurance-friendly automobiles for that demographic. Carinsurance.com put together the information, which only analyzed vehicles of the 2009 model year that come in under $15,000. The data came from such agencies as the Environmental Protection Agency and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. Although it’s readily acknowledged that insurance rates for a new teen driver are going to remain high, the Ford Taurus is supposed to be the best option, clocking in at an average of $3,322, with the Honda Accord not far behind. The Ford Fusion, Scion xB, and Subaru Legacy rounded out the top five.
