Ram 3500, 2500, and 1500 trucks of the 2013 model year are being recalled by Chrysler. More than 30,000 vehicles that contain premium tail lamps are potentially affected by the recall, which was issued because there’s a possibility that the trucks are out of compliance with federal standards regarding lamp equipment. When a turn signal lamp fails, a driver is typically warned by rapid flashing and ticking in the cabin when the signal is activated. On these vehicles, that warning might not happen, and thus a driver would not know when their turn signal has failed, creating a crash hazard when other vehicle operators can’t identify turning intention. The recall should start next month, and owners will hear from Chrysler and be able to bring the trucks in to a dealer for free reprogramming.
