A series of chandeliers under the Transglobe and Portfolio brands are being recalled by the Valencia, California-based Bel Air Lighting. 20,500 chandeliers with nine lights are impacted by the recall. Although the Transglobe model was available from numerous retailers, the Portfolio model could only be obtained through Lowe’s. Each was sold between February 2007 and June 2010. Persons standing beneath the chandeliers could be injured if the mounting loop breaks and the chandelier drops, a possibility with these particular models. Although property damage was reported, none of the 18 incidents led to an injury. The area beneath the chandelier should be cordoned off and Bel Air should be contacted for recall and repair instructions.
