11,000 Electric Smokehouse Smokers are being recalled by the Columbus, Georgia-based Masterbuilt Manufacturing due to a potential fire hazard posed. These products have a tray for wood chips that’s supposed to be secured within the smoker, but it apparently is unable to be adequately slid in. Because of this, combustion of the wood is a possibility, which may force the cabinet door to blast open, creating the aforementioned fire risk. Six incidents have been reported at this time, and although there were thankfully no injuries, owners are being asked to unplug and cease using the products. A repair kit can be obtained from the company at no cost. The products were available from Cabelas and Bass Pro Shops between May and August of last year.
