Dodge Grand Caravan, RAM C/V Tradesman, and Town & Country vehicles of the 2013 model year are being recalled by Chrysler due to a potential software malfunction that could contribute to a greater injury risk should a crash take place. When a collision affects one side of the vehicle, that side’s airbags are designed to deploy to protect the seat occupant. However, this particular error could result in the airbags on the opposite side going off, protecting that occupant but not the one closest to the crash. Owners of the 224,254 vehicles potentially impacted by the problem will receive a notification once the recall starts next month. Free repairs will be offered by dealers at that point.
