Outlander Sport vehicles of the 2013 model year are being recalled by Mitsubishi due to the fact that the welds keeping the stabilizer link in place on the front strut may have been inadequate. As a result, the 305 or so vehicles potentially affected by the recall could see this link become dislodged and contribute to brake hose or tire damage. The problems with this could be twofold: the vehicle might not be able to stop within a sufficient distance, and steering would become much harder. Either situation could prompt a crash. There’s no word on when the recall is going to start, but once it does, owners will be able to gain a free inspection and component replacement service as needed from dealers.
