The city of Walnut, California was recently the site of an enforcement operation that sought to target any actions that could unnecessarily endanger motorcyclists. The Motorcycle Safety Enforcement Operation carried out by the Sheriff’s Department of Los Angeles County found officers placing especial attention on those parts of town that were notorious for having heavy motorcycle traffic. Intoxicated driving was the main focus of the event, but officers also pointed out that they would pull over anyone who they felt was engaged in an illegal activity that could lead to a motorcycle crash. Through these types of operations, the hope is that California as a whole will see a reduction in motorcycle fatalities for the third year straight.
