A new report delves into the various bicycle safety measures being put in place in various parts of California. It starts with La Jolla, where a bike share program is being developed so that citizens in the area will be more attuned with cycling culture in general. San Diego has seen the installation of green dedicated bike lanes running along roads, the thought being that, with this type of marking, a driver will begin to respect the rights of cyclists even when they’re not there. The city is also investing a whopping $200 million over the next decade for projects related to cycling. And in California as a whole, a law has just been signed that requires drivers to give cyclists a three foot berth when passing.
