A new report takes a look at California’s recent efforts to ensure the safety of cosmetic products throughout the state. Less than a decade after the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics developed a home base in San Francisco, California is about to unveil something called the Safe Cosmetics Program database. This will basically act as a tool for concerned parties to research a given cosmetic product to determine if the ingredients inside of it are toxic or could otherwise contribute to health woes. The Safe Cosmetics Act paved the way for the database, which will have to come out by year’s end to meet an established deadline.
