The California Highway Patrol plans to enact a safety campaign in Imperial County over the course of the next year. A California Office of Traffic Safety grant made the enforcement effort possible. A litany of activities will be put together in order to help reduce collisions and in turn fatalities in the area. First, unincorporated areas and state routes will see an increased enforcement effort. But in addition to simply enforcing the laws that are on the books, the agency plans to create public safety campaigns centered on various topics and to reach out to the community to further stress the need for safe highways.
