Avalon, Avalon HV, Camry, Camry HV, and Corolla automobiles of the 2013 and 2014 model years are being recalled by Toyota because of an issue that could cause the inoperability of the windshield wiper blades. There’s a possibility that a short circuit could take place in the switch assembly of said blades, and when that occurs, said wipers could fail to function, bringing the vehicles into conflict with the federal standard governing such systems. Without the blades, a driver would be unable to clear rain and debris from the windshield, thus causing a visibility issue that could prompt a crash. Around 9,795 vehicles are being recalled, and owners of those automobiles started to receive alerts from Toyota back on November 8. Once contacted, a free wiper replacement can be obtained from dealers.
