Livingston Set To Benefit From Traffic Safety Grant

Posted on November 22, 2013

The city of Livingston is set to benefit from a safety grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety.  $45,000 is being provided to the police department in a bid to help them crack down on those driving activities that so often lead to serious injuries and fatalities on the roads.  The Chief of Police has touted the grant’s ability to allow the department to raise awareness of and reduce instances of things like distracted driving, improper seatbelt usage, drunk driving, and navigating dangerously in school zones.  The police will be increasing enforcement efforts surrounding these activities and other dangerous maneuvers, such as speeding and blowing past stop signs and red lights.
