Hewlett-Packard and Google, two companies based in Palo Alto and Mountain View, California, respectively, have jointly announced the recall of computer chargers sold as an accessory with the HP Chromebook 11. Affected units, of which there are thought to be around 145,000, will have a model number of MU15-N1052-AOOS and were sold across the country this past October and November. Overheating and subsequent melting of the device are possibilities, and when that happens, consumers could be burned or a fire could break out. Nine incidents, including one minor burn, have been reported at this time, and consumers are being asked to avert further situations by ceasing use and getting in touch with Google for a new charger.
