2,886 motorcycles of the 2014 model year are being recalled by the Harley-Davidson Motor Company because of a potential safety issue that could arise. These motorcycles could have clutch release plates that are inappropriate for the given units. Because of this, a rider might not be able to disengage the clutch. When this occurs during riding, the motorcycle may not be able slow or be pulled into a stop. This could lead the rider to be involved in a crash. Owners of the FXSBE, FLSTNSE, and FLHTCUTG motorcycles potentially affected by the recall should receive notification soon, as the recall started a couple months back. An inspection and, if needed, a free replacement service will be carried out by dealers.
