We’ve talked before about how distracted walking has grown to become a serious issue in an era dominated by smartphone usage, but a new report is so outlandish that it begs to be talked about. The incident in question, which took place in Australia, involved a woman reportedly so intent on checking her Facebook that she didn’t even realize when she was approaching the end of the pier she was walking on. She walked right off the edge, interacting with Facebook one second and then plunging into the water the next. The woman was thankfully alright, and she even managed to keep a grip on her phone.
Please refrain from cellphone usage while walking. You don’t want to be the next embarrassing incident reported in the media.
