Another new article has arrived that takes a look at how automakers are attempting to make strides in the safety systems of modern vehicles. The San Jose Mercury News report points out that Toyota has chosen to circumvent an auto show debut entirely by instead rolling out their new concept car at the Las Vegas Consumer Electronics Show next month. This speaks to a trend among those in the auto industry to equip their vehicles with electronic systems that would have seemed like science fiction just a few years ago. General Motors plans to expand availability of their lane departure warnings to lower-end brands rather than the Cadillac vehicles the technology has solely been available on. And Ford plans to make MyKey more readily available so that teens of driving age are able to pilot a vehicle only at safe speeds.
