High pressure air hoses used for scuba diving are being recalled by the Finland-based Suunto Oy because of a possible malfunction that could lead a user to drown if they’re underwater at the time. The recall affects 1,300 hoses that have a batch code of 1812 and are used in conjunction with dive computers and pressure gauges. A leakage or a full rupture of this component is a possibility, and should that compromise the user’s ability to draw air through the hose, he or she could drown. Thankfully, no such incidents have come to light at this time, and so that might continue, owners are being asked to cease usage and to get a replacement item from a reputable dealer. The products were available between November 2012 and last July.
