Last week, we related news of a recall on various types of meat products by the Petaluma, California-based Rancho Feeding Corporation. Now, that recall has been expanded to include Book Tripe shipped in 30 pound boxes to various facilities. As before, this meat was made available across California, with this additional recall affecting 420 pounds of meat. Also as with before, the concern is that these products may have failed to go through the necessary inspection procedures prior to being sent out, which means that they could pose a hazard to humans once they make it to the consumption stage. No illnesses have been reported at this time, but any that do arise should prompt medical intervention.
