A worthwhile editorial out of Pennsylvania reinforces the idea that texting while driving is an action that should never take place. It does so by highlighting some of the consequences that might await an individual who chooses to text while at the wheel. The report relates one incident in which people were killed and a driver was charged with various crimes in a texting-related crash. It then points to some findings from the distracted driving website of the federal government. Persons who text are willfully taking their minds and eyes off the road for nearly five seconds, and in doing, they’re making themselves three times more susceptible to a collision.
