3.8 million car seats are being recalled by Graco Children’s Products due to a seatbelt issue that could make it difficult to extricate a child from the unit when a speedy exit from the vehicle is necessary. Originally, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration had requested that the company recall 18 models, but since Graco has only recalled 11, the inquiry into the car seats will continue. The recall affects My Ride, Nautilus, and Cozy Cline seats, among others, and all affected models would have been produced between 2009 and last year. There is an apparent safety issue wherein the latches can get stuck. When this occurs during an emergency, it would limit a parent’s or an emergency responder’s ability to get the child out of the seat.
